Safety Regulations
At Ruiz Construction, we don't just build structures; we build trust. Safety forms the foundation of everything we do. Our unwavering commitment to a secure jobsite means every team member – from the ground up – works within the parameters of strict safety regulations designed to protect them, our clients, and our community.
Jobsite Safety Inspections
Our daily on-site safety checks, conducted by the site foremen and a dedicated company safety officer, ensure that every Ruiz Construction jobsite conforms to our rigorous safety program. Employees are held accountable for maintaining proper work practices and regularly using Personal Protection Equipment (PPE).
Weekly Toolbox Talks
Safety is a collective effort. That's why our foremen and owners conduct weekly safety discussions, fostering an environment where every team member is alert and proactive about on-the-job safety. Reflecting on recent safety topics and incidents keeps our team sharp, vigilant, and prepared.
Accident Investigations
Our safety officer promptly and thoroughly investigates accidents and injuries. Through root cause analysis (RCA), we delve into the why and how, establishing preventative practices to avoid future occurrences.
Annual Safety Training
We believe in empowering our team through education. Our superintendents and foremen are OSHA 30-Hour trained, and our annual training, conducted between January and March, covers essential safety protocols, including:
- PPE Usage
- First Aid
- CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation)
- Traffic Control
- Flagger Certification
- Forklift Safety
- Excavation Safety
Zero-Tolerance Drug and Alcohol Policy
We are aware of the direct correlation between substance use and job-related deaths and workplace accidents like injuries or property damage. Ruiz Construction upholds a strict zero-tolerance policy for drug and alcohol use, ensuring a safer, more efficient job site.
